The German Center for Lung Research was established to improve understanding of the causes of lung diseases and to open up new avenues for prevention, diagnosis, and therapy. Within a nationwide network of leading university and non-university institutions, the DZL pools scientific expertise with the aim of translating research findings into medical practice more rapidly.
