About DZL

The German Center for Lung Research was established in 2011 as one of the German Centers for Health Research. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space and connects leading university and non-university institutions across Germany. Its mission is to improve understanding of the causes of lung diseases and to translate research findings more rapidly into prevention, diagnosis, and therapy.

DZL Academy

The DZL Academy is the junior program of the German Center for Lung Research and is aimed at students, doctoral candidates, and postdocs from DZL research groups.

As Academy Fellows, early-career researchers benefit from targeted training and career development opportunities, mentoring, networking, and exchange within a strong DZL-wide community. The Academy supports young scientists in both their professional and personal development while actively fostering collaboration and individual initiative.
